I am to the end of another awesome design by Lori Holt. The Bee Vintage Sew a long was a great experience and one that I really enjoyed doing. After my weeks of pretty much keeping up with the weekly progress, I fell behind on the sashing and borders, but can happily say I have succeeded in finishing this one….finally!
I was really worried about lining up the sashing and borders and although you can see a few off by a centimeter or two, for the most part these line up really well. When sewing all the sashing and borders I used a seam guile to make sure I stayed at 1/4” seam on everything. This really helped to keep everything lined up and spaced correctly, so when I got to the borders, the measurements given for cutting the borders actually matched the length my sides and top were. This is a huge accomplishment in the quilt world.
I still need to put the top on the Moxie to be quilted, but that will have to wait until 1) I order the actual backing fabric and, 2) I get moved into the new house and get my sewing room set back up. Until then please enjoy the look of my latest finish project.
If you want to see all the blocks I made for this quilt one right after the other, click on the image to the right that says, Bee Vintage Sew Along and it will bring up all the posts related to this project.
