Back in 2018 I bought several patterns to make handbags ranging from crossbody to bucket bags to many more. Needless to say I didn't get very many of them made in the last 6 years.
My youngest granddaughter asked if I knew how to make bags and me being the grandmother I am (who never says no), I said yes baby I can make bags and the timing just happened to be Christmas time when she asked, so the Dollie crossbody purse from Swoon Patterns was to be made.
It's a small bag with an exterior slip pocket, fold over flap with magnetic snap closure and a long adjustable strap. Well a long adjustable strap when you don't mess up and end up making it a little on the short side. Lucky for me she is only 7, so the length should be okay.
I used some navy vinyl I had in stock and picked the orange piece on the outside from the Bloomberry fabric line by Minki Kim. The lining pieces are also part of Bloomberry line. I messed up when I was making my cuts so one section of the inside lining is different, but my granddaughter will not care. She will be excited that her Nana made her a bag that no one else in the world has. Yes there are other bags out there made from this pattern, but to my grandchildren everything I make them is one of a kind. They always tell their friends that no one has one like theirs because their Nana made it and she is the only one who can make this one.
