My favorite designer is Lori Holt and on November 6th she started a sew along using her book, Scrappiness is Happiness, which includes 32 different quilts. The quilt was designed to use one of each block in the book and then put that together to make one really big quilt.

I am moving on along, trying to get as many done as I can before we move back to Tennessee. This post will have 4 blocks.

My husband and I went on a little adventure today to one of the local antique shops just to see what might be available that would interest us. We saw 3 different vintage sewing machines and one of them came home with me. I have loved these sewing machines for years and was so excited to be able to obtain one. The fact that it was in a cabinet made it an even better find.

My serial number is AK514891 and from what I can find online it was manufactured in 1951. From what I've learned in my online search, machines sold in 1951 will contain a special-edition 100-year anniversary blue-banded "Centennial" badge. The are mechanically identical to machines produced in all other years.

Valentine's Day is fast approaching and I wanted something to add to my porch to represent the holiday as well as add a topper to my coffee table. Making something square would be the perfect ensemble with my square table.

TABLE TOPPER

For the table topper, I used a charm pack of Flirt by Sweetwater to create the squares around the design. The pattern is called Mini Starbound. Making mini quilts is something I want to start doing to have different designs to add to my wall.

I've been on a roll for the last few days and have completed 3 more blocks.

Back in October I posted my first pint sized table runner and now I'm back with another one. I decided I would only buy the ones that I really like the designs on and not just do every month for the sake of doing it as these are a little expensive.

Like the October version, the kit comes with all the fabrics for the top, binding and backing, plus all the pre-fused and laser cut appliquéd pieces.

I finished this one in a day as I was determined not to stop working on it until I was finished.
