About Me

Thanks for stopping by my little piece of serenity.  I’m a Tennessee transplant who loves to quilt, sew and cross stitch. I also love reading, gardening and baking.  I share my daily life with 2 dachshunds, a tortoiseshell cat and a husband who puts up with all my crazy ideas. In addition, I have 3 grown children and 4 grandkids who I treasure more than anything

My love for sewing started over 40+ years ago in middle school when my Mom started teaching me to sew. She had always sewn my clothes from the time I was born all through elementary school. In middle school I took a home economics class and I was hooked.

When my children came along, I sewed for them just as my mom had done for me. The most difficult item I ever sewed was a prom dress for my oldest daughter.

When Mom sewed for me, she gave all her scraps to my Granny to use in her quilts, which she done all by hand, from sewing together to quilting. She never used a longarm machine. Although I was fascinated by the process, it would be 2020 before I completed my first quilt. Not to say that I hadn’t attempted to make quilts before then as I did, but I never finished one.

When I started in 2020, I went all in and bought a longarm machine so that could complete all of my quilts myself. As of 2024, I have made at least 24 quilts, but admittedly they all not quilted yet as I still have a fear of the machine and still learning all its capabilities.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope that something I share here will help you on your journey of sewing, quilting, or stitching.
