Gingham Patchwork

By Anna - April 03, 2023

I love the way a gingham pattern looks and as such this pattern really appealed to me. It is a pattern by Primrose Cottage Quilts. The fabric was purchased from Fat Quarter Shop online and was designed by Bonnie & Camille, called One Fine Day.

For the binding I used Scrumptious Stripe, the backing is Navy Bliss and the gingham pattern was created by using Navy Lucky Day and Navy Vineyard. The white solid is from Confetti Cottons by Riley Blake.

When I bought my fabrics, I messed up and bought too much white and not enough of the blue that was supposed to be used as the medium color, but I made it work and I like the final look.

I started piecing this one back in July of 2022, but it would be April 2023 before I was able to put it on the longarmer and actually get it quilted.

This pattern could definitely be completed by a beginner. I used navy blue thread to the quilting with since I was using a navy blue fabric for the backing, but did not like the way it looked on the front. I will have to learn how to use two different threads when I quilt or make my backing match the quilt from here on out.
