One of my favorite crafts is cross-stitching, although I haven't done very much of it in the last 10 years. At one point I had cross stitched the Monopoly gameboard and for the life of me cannot locate it and fear that it was thrown away during one of my cleanouts of the RV when we were limited for space.
Here recently I decided I wanted to start doing some projects so the first one I picked out was a chicken from the Chicken Club that Lori Holt designed that goes with her Chicken Salad Sew Along that was a quilting project. Another project on my to do list.
So far there are nine different chicken designs and at the time I ordered a couple patterns I didn't realize the numbering system or I would have probably chose number 1 and 2, instead I picked Hattie and Hank, who turned out to be number 3 and 5. I completed Miss Hattie yesterday and am proud of my accomplishment.
I tried something I didn't even know was possible and that was cross stitching without a hoop. I have always used a hoop. Overall I think she looks pretty good. I plan to mount her pretty much like the picture on the pattern and have ordered some fabrics and frames to be able to do at least the first 4. I have also ordered pattern number 1 and 2 and once I finish those I will continue with the series. I believe there will be a total of 12 chickens once the series is completed.
