Millie's Dresses QAL - Part 2

Part 2 of Millie's Dress QAL that started in February! Part 1 can be found by clicking here.

Millie's Dresses is another wonderful pattern by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet! She said this pattern was inspired by her grandmother. When I look at these dresses, they remind me of my Aunt Bill (her real name was Alice, but we always called her Bill instead, no idea why). Anyway, my Aunt Bill always wore dresses no matter what she was doing. They were never fancy, just a simple dress and an apron.

According to the QAL, 4 dresses would be completed each month. I got a late start, but was still up to date with 8 dresses completed in the month of March. I am happy to report that by the 11th of April, I had 8 more dresses done, so I am ahead at the moment. However, considering I just demolished my quilt room this weekend, it might be a few weeks before I get back to sewing on this again.

The next 8 dresses:

The next step is to get the sashings and borders cut out, sewn together and then added to each block according to the pattern. One of the borders will consist of the same colors as in each dress. Once all the pieces were cut out, the actual piecing of the blocks was fairly easy to complete.

I'm excited to see the final product.
