Back in February 2021 I done a post of my craft room at the time, which was in our home we lived in in Dickson, TN. For those that know me, know that I am in the 3rd house since I lived in Dickson, so it is beyond time to share what my new room looks like. We've been in this house since October 2023.
In my previous set up, I had to share my office space (I work from home) with my craft/quilting space, but now I have two separate spaces. When I moved in here, I had already let go of the IKEA tables and instead had bought the Husky workbenches from Home Depot that can raise and lower, if you desire, making it so you can stand to sew. I tried a couple times, but I didn't like it.
I also have the big Husky Workbench with 9 drawers and extended table top that I use as my cutting table. I love being able to have the extra length when needed and when not, it folds down nicely and gives me more room in the space. I have 2 Ikea Billy/Oxberg bookcases that hold my fabrics and books, then I have 2 Billy bookcases in the closet where I removed the hanging rod as I don't plan on hanging anything in there. I mean it's my craft room, there is nothing that needs to be hung up, so I made the space work for me. If we ever sell the house, I might put a rod up for the new owners or they can install it themselves. For now the space is set up for what I need.
I love my Juki! |
Behind those doors is the closet and it has all my projects in clear containers and lots more fabric. |
I log my cross stitch projects and quilt projects, so I always have a written record of what I've done. |
