On December 18, 2022 I shared this quilt with everyone having finished the quilt top and was so proud of my achievement. It is hard to believe it took a year for me to get the courage to put her on Moxie and finish her. 

I could never decide on a pattern for the quilting and was scare of messing this one up and after all the time involved in putting this together the last thing I wanted to do was mess it up.

I ended up using a dog paw print and I think it turned out really good.

When I saw this pattern by Camille Roskelley many months ago, I knew I wanted to make this quilt because I love the hexi pattern. I had no idea at the time how the pattern would be put together, but I dove right in and bought the pattern and fabric. Unfortunately, life got in the way and it would be some time before I would actually start to make the quilt. I assumed when I started that it would just be another quilt to add to my home collection, but I guess God had other plans.

While sewing this one together I kept questioning if I was to keep this one or give it away. For some reason I kept hearing in my mind that I should give this one to my daughter, Christine. So by the time I was halfway through I had made up my mind that I was going to gift it to her. I don't know why, but it became important for me to finish it right away and mail it before Christmas. 

I started on this quilt on the 2nd of December and by the 16th I had it finished including quilting it on Miss Moxie, my longarm machine. 

UPDATE #2: I asked Christine if she was using her quilt and she said "no", for the time being it is folded next to her bed, so when she needs to feel close to her Mom, she can hug it and get the sense that I am right there with her as it smells like me (I washed it before I sent it to her). She said "it smells like home." She has no idea how much that meant to me. 

Back in September I shared that I was working on the Chicken Club Series by Lori Holt and had finished my first chicken, Hattie. Well now I have finished up Hank and have framed both and hung in my kitchen. This series is the cutest with no two chickens alike and with 12 total in the series I know it took a lot to design these. I am so grateful for Lori Holt and all her talent. I am currently working on my third masterpiece.

I decided to finish mine the same way as shown on the pattern, using the same fabric and trim.. Here is the framed finish for both Hattie and Hank.

Back in July I posted my June Foundation Paper Piecing that I got from Shabby Fabrics, which is a monthly series that they carry. Each month they release a brand-new wall hanging kit that finishes to 12" x 12". I've been skipping some months as I don't either don't like them or they just didn't have the look I was looking for.

This one is for September and features a house in deep red colors that I found very striking.  You can watch a video of how to put this together from Jen herself on the Shabby Fabrics YouTube channel.

The kit includes all the fabrics to make the Wall Hanging, including border, binding and backing! Also included is the paper piecing patterns printed on foundation paper, stickers to label your fabrics and help with organizing as well as an extra set of paper piecing patterns and stickers.

I purchased the panel to make the Lori Holt project bags a long time ago and it was just one of those "projects" that kept getting pushed to the side and pushed to the side until finally I decided to finish these things up this week. One reason I kept putting it off is because I couldn't figure out how to make them with a lining and not see the seams on the inside. Lucky for me I finally found a video to help me out and I give these a try again and am so glad I did. They all turned out so much better than I expected.

I completed seven different bags, 3 small ones and 4 larger. I have 3 pics of each showing the front, the back and the inside.

I recently came across a post on Instagram by The Quilt Shop that had turned the Lori Holt Stitch Card Set P into a beautiful pillow. The stitch card sets come in a group of 4 patterns, but the pillow was designed to have 5 cross stitch designs, so I used one of the blocks from the Stitchy Stars Pattern (also by Lori Holt) to complete the look.

I chose to use my Flea Market scraps left over from a quilt I made for my mom a couple years back to complete the pillow and use for the back side of the pillow as well.

Once complete, I inserted a 16" pillow form and added the pillow to the daybed I have in my office so I can admire it on a daily basis.
