I am excited to report that I received my box kit and cannot even begin to express how amazing I think this kit is. These fabrics are gorgeous. I can't wait to cut into them, but first I have to figure out what I'm doing.

Block 1 fabric choices

I am in the middle of my first block challenge (RBD block challenge) right now and the instructions tell you how much of each fabric you need to complete each block so you only cut what you need as to not cut something wonky and not have enough fabric to complete your quilt top. Well the instructions for this quilt are not like that, so it is taking me a little longer to figure this one out and get started. 

Today I finally cut out what I needed for the first block. I decided that I will cut out all my pieces for each block first and then start sewing the blocks together. I don't want to get overwhelmed trying to do two quilts at one time as I am still new to all of this.

The first block looks like plus signs. The color prints include (2) reds, (2) oranges, (2) greys, (1) blue, (1) yellow and (1) green. The pic below shows my fabric choices.
